This situation cannot be treated with medication, it must be corrected surgically. In appropriate cases, using simple plication techniques to correct the curvature, plication stitches are placed on the reverse side of the curvature to correct the curvature.<\/p>\n<p>Another reason for congenital curvatures is the curvature seen in cases where the urinary hole, called hypospadias (prophetic circumcision) or epispadias, is not in its normal place. The curvature is corrected during the surgery performed to restore the urinary hole normally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Subsequent Penile Curvature:<\/strong> The most common cause of penile deformities and curvatures in advanced ages is &#8220;Peyronie&#8217;s Disease&#8221;. Peyronie&#8217;s disease is a disorder characterized by structural changes (plaque and scar tissue development) that occur in the structure of the outer sheath (tunica) surrounding the spongy tissues that provide hardening in the penis. As a result of these structural changes, palpable stiffness, deformity, pain and erection (hardening) problems occur over time. Curvature and painful erections due to the disease can make sexual intercourse difficult or even impossible.<\/p>\n<p>The treatment of Peyronie&#8217;s Disease, a disorder that is frequently observed between the ages of 40 and 70 and affects about 6% of men in this age group, differs according to the acute and chronic periods.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Medication:<\/strong> There are drug treatments given orally or injected into the penis. Oral medications do not seem to be very effective.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESWT (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy):<\/strong> It is a new and permanent treatment method used in the treatment of this disease. It is a painless procedure that does not require anesthesia and is applied in 6 sessions of 20 minutes in office conditions. They both reduce the formation of plaque with shock waves and correct the erection by providing the formation of new vessels in the penis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Penis Traction Device:<\/strong> It is recommended to be used especially in the acute phase to prevent shortening and deformity in the penis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Surgical Treatment:<\/strong> In cases suitable for this purpose, the curvature can be corrected by placing plication stitches on the reverse side of the curvature using plication techniques.
